Looking to upskill or develop within your current role?

If you drive a forklift, you need a nationally accredited Forklift Ticket. These courses are designed for people who are intending to operate a forklift truck within their workplace.  Our training is carried out in our purpose built and customised training facilities in Welshpool, Forrestfield and Bunbury.  Our forklift courses will provide participants with a Forklift Ticket/Notice of assessment (interim licence upon successful completion).

 

⚠ Important:
Competency in these units does not automatically grant a High Risk Work Licence. Applicable licensing and processing fees are payable to WorkSafe.

  • You the participant can submit an application for your High Risk Work Licence to WorkSafe, or; 
  • Nara Training & Assessing can assist with submission of your High Risk Work Licence application to WorkSafe.

  • New HRWL: $100
  • Adding a licence to an existing HRWL: $50

Entry Requirements

      • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
      • Sound verbal and written comprehension of the English language is mandatory. Interpreters and/or online support are not allowed as per the NAI Assessment Guidelines. Assessments are closed book and must be completed in English, and no assistance can be provided once the assessment has commenced.
      • Sound maths skills are essential to be able to complete the training, as a large component of the theory assessment involves maths.
      • Students who require additional support are encouraged to discuss this with our NARA staff prior to commencement of the training.
      • PPE – hi-vis shirt and steel-capped boots are mandatory. (hi-vis vest can be supplied if necessary)
      • Have 1 valid form of identification on the day of training one being a current photo ID.
  • Beginner
    • Best suited for a person who:
      • has never operated a forklift
      • hasn’t operated a forklift for the last 3 years.
      • Doesn’t have a current licence/ticket

      Certification

      Upon successful completion of the course, you will be issued with:

      • Statement of attainment
      • Notice of Assessment

      Course Overview

      Our nationally accredited Forklift Ticket course is designed for people who are intending to operate a forklift truck within their workplace.  Our training is carried out in our purpose built and customised training facilities in Welshpool, Forrestfield and Bunbury.  Our forklift courses will provide participants with a Forklift Ticket/Notice of assessment (interim licence upon successful completion).

      Participants will undergo training in:

      • Current legislation and requirements
      • Hazard identification and control measures
      • Pre-start, shut down and secure procedures
      • Operating and moving loads

      You will come in on the second day of a 2-day course – you will be given your theory test first – this will be closed book, you must pass this prior to attempting your practical assessment. Please note there is no training involved in this option.  This is a closed book theory test, and the answers are short answers, NOT multiple choice. We recommend 8-10 hours of study prior to attending the course.

      What to bring/wear:

      • 1 Form of photographic ID
      • Appropriate protective clothing and footwear (no thongs/singlets)
      • Hi-Vis gear and hard hats are provided if required

      Re-sit fees when deemed Not Yet Competent (NYC)

      • All course, with the exclusion of Refresher/Experience courses:
        • A student that has been deemed NYC, may have one (1) re-sit of the full course for free, within a six-month period following the initial training.
      • Experienced courses (high-risk):
        • A student that has been deemed NYC, will NOT have the opportunity of a free re-sit. A reschedule fee of $150 will apply.
      • Refresher courses (non-high risk):
        • A student that has been deemed NYC, will NOT have the opportunity of a free re-sit. A reschedule fee of $50 will apply.
