Entry requirements
- Beginner:
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
- Sound verbal and written comprehension of the English language is mandatory. Interpreters and/or online support are not allowed as per the NAI Assessment Guidelines. Assessments are closed book and must be completed in English, and no assistance can be provided once the assessment has commenced.
- Sound maths skills are essential to be able to complete the training, as a large component of the theory assessment involves maths.
- Students who require additional support are encouraged to discuss this with our NARA staff prior to commencement of the training.
- PPE . long pants, long sleeve hi viz shirt and steel capped boots are mandatory.
- Have 2 valid forms of identification on the day of training one being a current photo ID.
Best suited for a person who:
- has never operated a EWP
- hasn’t operated a EWP for the last 3 years.
- Doesn’t have a current licence/ticket
Refresher:
- This is a Recognition of Prior Learning pathway (RPL), which includes Assessment only.
This is suited for a person who:
- With an existing licence, but has not renewed it within 12 months of expiry AND
- Has been operating a EWP in the last2 years
Please note there is no training involved in the experienced operation course.

Course Overview
Students will attain the practical application and understanding required to plan the work, conduct routine checks, set up, operate, shut down and secure an elevating work platform (EWP).
Our nationally accredited EWP course in Perth is designed to give participants the necessary skills and knowledge to operate an Elevated Work Platform (EWP).
Participants will undergo training in:
- Current legislation and requirements
- Hazard identification and risk management
- Conducting routine checks, setting up, operating, shutting down and securing EWP
- Correctly accessing, installing and using fall protection equipment.
What to bring/wear:
- Two forms of photographic ID
- Appropriate protective clothing and footwear (no thongs/singlets)
- Hi-vis gear and hard hats provided if required
Re-sit fees when deemed Not Yet competent (NYC)
All course, with the exclusion of Refresher/Experience courses:
o A student that has been deemed NYC, may have one (1) re-sit of the full course for free, within a six-month period following the initial training.
Experienced courses (high risk):
o A student that has been deemed NYC, will NOT have the opportunity of a free re-sit. A reschedule fee of $150 will apply.
Refresher courses (non-high risk):
o A student that has been deemed NYC, will NOT have the opportunity of a free re-sit. A reschedule fee of $50 will apply.
