Working at Heights and Confined Space

Our nationally accredited course is designed to give participants the necessary skills and knowledge to work at heights and enter and work in confined spaces in various roles.

Course outline

  • Regulations and legislation
  • Learn hazard identification and risk management
  • Correctly assessing, installing, and using fall protection equipment
  • Access and install equipment
  • Perform working at heights
  • Identify work procedures and instructions

Confined Space Entry

  • Regulations and legislation
  • Hazard identification and control measures
  • Entry permits
  • Work in confined spaces
  • Plan and prepare for working in confined space
  • Existing confined space

Pre-requisites

Refresher courses:

  • Statement of Attainment in RIIWHS202D (Enter and Work in a Confined Space ) and RIIWHS204D (Work Safely at Heights)*
    *Please ensure you bring both statements of attainment with you. If you are unable to produce an authentic copy, you will be unable to attend this refresher class.

Entry Requirements

Beginner:

  • Photo ID must be presented i.e. current drivers license or passport
  • Basic English language and literacy skills

Refresher:

  • Photo ID must be presented i.e. current drivers license or passport
  • Basic English language and literacy skills

Current Statement of Attainment for Work Safely at Heights (RIIWHS204E or equivalent issued within the last five (5) years prior to attending this refresher course

Re-sit fees when deemed Not Yet competent (NYC)

All course, with the exclusion of Refresher/Experience courses:

o A student that has been deemed NYC, may have one (1) re-sit of the full course for free, within a six-month period following the initial training.

Experienced courses (high risk):

o A student that has been deemed NYC, will NOT have the opportunity of a free re-sit. A reschedule fee of $150 will apply.

Refresher courses (non-high risk):

o A student that has been deemed NYC, will NOT have the opportunity of a free re-sit. A reschedule fee of $50 will apply.
