Skill Hire, Nara Training and Assessing, and NextGen Skills Welcome Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson to Forrestfield Campus

Skill Hire, Nara Training and Assessing, and NextGen Skills were thrilled to welcome the Hon Amber-Jade Sanderson MLA, Minister for Energy and Decarbonisation, Manufacturing, Skills and TAFE, and the Pilbara, to our Forrestfield campus recently. The visit was also attended by the Hon Stephen Price MLA, Member for Forrestfield.

The Minister’s visit provided a valuable opportunity for meaningful engagement with both staff and students. During her time at the campus, Minister Sanderson participated in detailed discussions on a range of issues affecting the training and apprenticeship sectors.

Minister Sanderson was given a comprehensive tour of the campus, which has recently undergone significant redevelopment to become a state-of-the-art hub for construction industry training. The tour was led by CEO Ben Dahlstrom and Ryan Piggott, Head of Education and Training – WA. The Minister had the chance to see firsthand the cutting-edge facilities and innovative training programs that are being offered to students.

“We are incredibly honoured that one of the Minister’s first stops in her new role was our redeveloped construction industry training hub in Forrestfield,” Mr. Dahlstrom said.

“This visit underscores the importance of our work and the critical role that vocational education and training play in the development of a skilled workforce. As one of the most significant training and education organisations in Western Australia, we are committed to contributing to the important conversations and initiatives that shape our sector.”

The visit also provided an opportunity for the Minister to meet with students and hear their perspectives on their training experiences and future career aspirations. This direct interaction with the next generation of skilled workers highlighted the impact of the training programs and the importance of continued investment in education and training.

“We are dedicated to ensuring that our students receive the highest quality education and training, equipping them with the skills they need to succeed in their chosen careers,” added Mr. Piggott. “The support and engagement from the Minister and the government are crucial in helping us achieve this goal.”
