FAQS

What’s the difference between LF and LO forklift licences?

While many businesses understand the importance of standard forklift training, also referred to as LF, the Order Picking Forklift Ticket, or LO, is a specialised skill set that often gets overlooked but is critical for optimised operations.

The TLILIC0004 licence is specifically designed for operators of order-picking forklifts. Unlike traditional counterbalance forklifts that move entire pallets, LO forklifts empower operators to ascend with the load, selecting individual items from various heights within your racking system. This unique operation demands a distinct set of skills and safety protocols.

How long does the LO forklift course take?

The full training including assessment is a 2-day course. If you are just looking for refresher/ experienced training, you can complete this in a 1-day course. Please call us direct to arrange refresher training.

What should I bring on training day?
  • Form of photographic ID
  • Appropriate protective clothing and footwear (no thongs/singlets). Steel capped boots are mandatory.
  • Hi-vis gear is mandatory – hi-vis vests can be provided if required.
Is the LO forklift licence nationally recognised?

Yes.

Our nationally accredited Order Picking Forklift Ticket course is designed for people who are intending to operate an order picking forklift truck within their workplace.
Our training is carried out in our purpose-built training centre in Welshpool. This is a simulated warehouse facility with a traffic management plan, directional aisles, and all locations are labeled as you would find in the real-world environment. Students will complete picking and put away tasks from a pick sheet as would be expected in a working warehouse. Along with all the safety requirements to satisfy this unit of competency our trainer will also emphasise the importance of correct manual handling techniques.

Our order picking forklift courses will provide successful participants with an Order Picking Forklift (LO) Notice of assessment (interim license). Included in the course fee Nara Training will supply passport photos, as well as pay and lodge the WORKSAFE licence application.

How long is the WorkSafe WA licence valid?

5 years. After this time you are able to re-new on line.

What if I fail the assessment?

A student that has been deemed Not Yet Competent (NYC), may have one (1) re-sit of the full course for free, within a six-month period following the initial training.

Can I do group training at my workplace?

Yes. Please contact us to arrange this. If you have the appropriate forklift that you would like training on, our experienced trainer can come to you to arrange the training.
