Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Nara Training & Assessing recognises a person’s current skills and knowledge, no matter how, when or where the learning has occurred. Nara Training & Assessing acknowledges this as an important assessment pathway, particularly for people who are undertaking study as the recognition gained may reduce the study time needed to obtain a qualification.

Nara Training & Assessing provides Recognition of Prior Learning, Recognition of Current Competency, Verification of Competency and Credit Transfers acknowledgment of current qualification held by the candidate.

The onus is on the student to provide sufficient and timely evidence to support their RPL application.

Assessment Procedures

You will be required to complete a knowledge test and practical activities tasks during your course. Throughout the course, you will be provided with feedback as to your progress. At the end of the course, your assessor will provide further feedback and the assessment outcome.

Nara Training & Assessing will issue a Statement of Attainment for the unit at the end of the course.

If requested, we can arrange for your Statement of Attainment to be sent to your postal address or to your company.

For high risk courses: When you are deemed competent, your assessor will issue you with a statement of attainment and an Interim Licence. Nara Training & Assessing will pass all the required documentation to WorkSafe. Please allow up to six weeks.

Where you are deemed as not yet competent, you will have a further two weeks to be re-assessed. Your trainer and assessor will discuss this option with you.

Assessor Qualifications

Trainers employed at Nara are required to have the most up to date Cert IV TAE and hold all qualifications they deliver plus have extensive experience in the area they specialise.

Opportunities to undertake training with Nara Training & Assessing will not be restricted on the grounds of nationality, place of birth, language, age, sex, or educational background.

Safe Learning Environment

Nara Training & Assessing will provide a safe and healthy learning environment. All plant and equipment is regularly tested to strict standards and adheres to all safety regulations. All training areas are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. Any misuse of equipment, disregard for personal safety, harassment, discrimination and/or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated in the learning environment and any perpetrator may be asked to leave the premises immediately.

Disciplinary Procedures

Any student who has been asked to leave the premises due to misconduct will not be eligible for a refund and will be required to pay any amount still outstanding. In case of suspension students may appeal in writing to the General Manager Training to present their case for appeal.

Student Progress and Feedback

Your trainer will keep you informed on your progress with regular feedback throughout your course and will provide you with the full support that you require to successfully complete your training.
