A white card is a requirement of The Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996 that set out the mandatory requirements for the provision of construction safety induction training, for employees or self-employed people doing construction work at a workplace in Western Australia.
Why is the white card important?
The construction industry white card is important because information and skills developed within a white card course sets out the minimum requirement to approach what can be an intimidating environment with confidence that your actions wont adversely affect the health and safety of others.
More importantly you will be able to recognise the hazards and risks associated with construction work. Your actions on the reporting and controlling of risks in construction will help improve the culture and safety of everyone in the construction industry.
White card moves from online delivery
White card has in the past been delivered online in a self-paced environment. Industry consultation has determined learners will benefit from face to face training with experienced trainers from within the construction industry.
